Koenigsegg’s quirky four-seater at Geneva
Swedish supercar maker Koenigsegg is famous for its bonkers fast cars, which have a habit of dominating the Top Gear speed charts.
It seems The Stig may in the future be able to take Clarkson, May and Hammond along for a ride all at the same time, in the equally mad Quant concept!

Aircraft-style cockpit
This concept, unveiled for the first time here at Geneva, shows another direction for the mad car maker. It’s a full two-door, four-seat coupe, with a luxurious interior and plenty of hi-tech gadgets. But while there’s an emphasis placed on luxury, the Swedes haven’t hidden their outrageous side, either.
It sure does stand out, with an aircraft style cockpit and the other-worldly lines associated with Koenigsegg. Like all of its cars, it looks completely different to almost any other car – not least because it is fitted with Mercedes style gullwing doors. It’s also entirely covered in a solar power-generating coating. Why?
Well, believe it or not, it is actually a zero-emission electric car! Giant electric motors drive the rear wheels (of course), and are said to deliver almost instantaneous power. And what power – 512bhp, plus a startling 527lb/ft of torque, delivered at 0 mph. ‘Searing’ doesn’t begin to describe the performance potential of this mighty Koenigsegg!
It should be good for 170mph, and the 60mph dash in around 5 seconds. But what about range? Well, the Quant showcases a special ‘Flow Accumulator Energy Storage’ system. This basically allows it to be recharged in minutes, and gives it a range of over 300 miles.
There’s no word on when it will make production – but, note that ‘when’. Not ‘if’ Koenigsegg wants to make this, and will be looking into the processes on how to soon. The green eco-beating zero-emission Koenigsegg could be a step closer to reality after this year’s Geneva show…
