Pagani’s 230mph race car at Geneva
For a company that builds just 20 cars a year, Pagani knows how to keep ringing the changes.
It launches two new models at Geneva, although new is stretching it somewhat. Both are derivatives of the established Zonda, with the promise of the genuinely new Pagani C9 still a year away. But a new factory will allow production levels to triple to a hefty 60 units annually.

Track-day warrior
The Zonda R is a race-track only version with a 100hp boost, taking the Mercedes-derived V12 to 750hp. Owners can either take the Zonda R racing or simply make mincemeat of every other car that turns up to a track day. On a long enough straight it will reach the other side of 230mph. Just 15 will be built and one of them is yours for €1,400,000.
The Zonda Cinque is the other model and has, incredibly, been designed especially for the Hong Kong market, with softer suspension and the sort of interior enhancements that local buyers will value. It uses the usual AMG Mercedes V12, this time with a more manageable 675hp. A new rear wing, revised front spoiler and air intakes are all part of the flexibility possible from such a small bespoke manufacturer. The plan is to build just five examples, which probably exhausts the demand for these €850,000 supercars on the island.
