As the team behind the Project Gotham Racing series, Bizarre Creations is an old hand at driving games. But the racing genre, the developers say, has stagnated for too long.

Blur, the upcoming racer from Bizarre Creations and publisher Activision, promises to give the genre a shot in the arm. With a focus on creating fun rather than the perfect driving simulator, Bizarre is mixing photorealistic cars with flashy power-ups for an "accessible", arcadey game.

The game is set for release this autumn on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
